The Client
This client required an electrical heating alternative to a fossil fuel heat source for the renovation of an old farm outbuilding. After an accurate heat loss calculation was made, a 4kw Heatrae Sadia Amptec electric flow boiler was chosen to provide the heated water to underfloor heating and the unvented cylinder. No flue requirements or fuel storage area is required and made the installation location flexible along with its compact design.
The Joule 170L unvented cylinder provides mains pressure hot water to the kitchen and two shower rooms. A building regs notification of an unvented cylinder installation was included using our G3 certification.
35m2 of Mercury UFH was installed with a 3-port manifold and two Heatmiser Neo Thermostats to control the zones.
This electrical heating and hot water system complimented the property which already had a large solar PV installation.
